ABOUT THIS SAFARI

About This 10 Day East Africa Safari

This East Africa safari links the four parks most travellers dream of in one unhurried road trip. You begin with two nights in Amboseli National Park beneath Kilimanjaro, spend three nights in the Masai Mara, cross into Tanzania for three nights in the Serengeti National Park and finish with a night on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Longer stays mean more time at sightings and fewer early transfers. Amboseli is known for its elephant herds, the Mara and the Serengeti for big cats and, from July to October, the wildebeest migration and the Ngorongoro crater floor for black rhino. A Maasai village visit and a dawn balloon flight can be added in the Mara.

You travel in private 4×4 Land Cruisers with a Kenyan guide, then a Tanzanian guide and vehicle from the border onwards. Full board, all park, conservation and crater fees and border assistance are included. With less time, the 7 Days Kenya and Tanzania safari covers the Mara, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

How To Get There

This safari starts in Nairobi and ends in Arusha. Fly into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) and home from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Book an evening flight on day 10, as you spend the morning on the crater floor.

All travel is by road. The longest days are Amboseli to the Mara (seven to eight hours) and the Mara to the Serengeti through the Isebania and Sirari border (a full day including the formalities). You change to a Tanzanian vehicle and guide at the border. The total is roughly 1,400 km.

You need a Kenya eTA, a Tanzania e-visa and a yellow fever certificate for entry to Tanzania from Kenya. From 1 October 2026 Tanzania also requires its own inbound travel insurance, $44 per adult and $22 per child, best bought online before you travel. Your own travel insurance does not replace it. See our visa requirements page or ask in your free quote.

GOOD TO KNOW

East Africa Safari FAQs

Ten days gives you two or three nights in each main park, so there is time for full days at sightings instead of rushing between parks. It also takes in Amboseli, which shorter cross border trips leave out.

You drive from the Masai Mara to the Isebania and Sirari border post, where our team helps with immigration. Kenyan vehicles cannot enter Tanzanian parks, so a Tanzanian guide and vehicle meet you there.

A Tanzania e-visa applied for online before travel and the original yellow fever certificate, which Tanzania asks for when you arrive from Kenya. Most visitors also need a Kenya eTA. See our visa requirements page.

July to October brings the wildebeest migration to the Mara and the northern Serengeti. January to March is calving season in the southern Serengeti, and the parks are good for big cats all year.

This safari starts from $2,360 per person. The price depends on the season, the camps and your group size. Request a free quote for your dates.

Yes. Zanzibar is a short flight from Arusha or Kilimanjaro. See our Zanzibar guide and we will add it to your quote.
