Safari Overview
This is a 3 days safari to the Samburu National Reserve, Northern part of Kenya on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river. Samburu is approximately 5-6 hours’ drive from Nairobi. Samburu National Reserve is home to rare animal species such as the Grevy Zebra, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx Reticulated Giraffe, and Somali Ostrich. It is also home to Elephants, Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. Birds of over 450 species are also common in the reserve. You will stay at Ashnil Samburu Camp/Samburu Riverside Camp/Elephant Bedroom Camp. Set in the backdrop drop of the Mighty Ol Olokwe Mountain facing Ewaso Nyiro River is Ashnil Samburu Camp. The luxury Tents are spread out and each tent features a beautiful view of the Ewaso Nyiro River. /Located right in the heart of Samburu National Reserve and close to the Ewaso Nyiro River is Samburu Riverside Camp is. The camp offers a sense of natural environment making it home to many birds, tortoises, vervet monkeys, elephants and many more. /Set along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river is Elephant Bedroom Camp. It offers an intimate and simple tented camp providing an astonishing safari experience.
You will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel/Airport and Depart for your Samburu safari at 7.00 am. You will have a brief stopover enroute to view Mount Kenya with its Snow-capped peaks. You arrive at the camp just in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive is planned in the reserve. You are likely to spot the Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Grevy Zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich, Elephants, Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. In the evening drive back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay. Lunch and dinner at Ashnil Samburu Camp/Samburu Riverside Camp/Elephant Bedroom Camp.
You will wake up to an early morning game drive before returning to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast return to the reserve for a full day game drive with packed lunch boxes. You will possibly sight unique wildlife species like Oryx, Gerenuk, Gravy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich and other wild animals’ peculiar to this semi-arid region. The game drives will be along Ewaso Nyiro river where most of the wild animals are found. Bird lovers are not left out as the reserve boasts of different species of birds. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp/Samburu Riverside Camp/Elephant Bedroom Camp.
This being your last day in Samburu, you will wake up to a sumptuous breakfast then drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to board your flight back home. Breakfast at Ashnil Samburu Camp/Samburu Riverside Camp/Elephant Bedroom Camp.
